ONE: Prevention of Knowledge: Knowledge is a light which God puts into the heart and disobedience extinguishes this light.
TWO: Prevention of Sustenance: Just as
the Holy Spirit brings about sustenance (Provisions, Support), the abandonment of
Holy Spirit causes poverty.
THREE: Punishment: physical, mental and spiritual.
FOUR: Disobedience weakens the heart and the body. Disobedience does not stop weakening the soul until the life of the heart ceases completely.
FIVE: Disobedience reduces our life span and destroys any blessings. Just as righteousness increases the lifespan, sinning reduces it.
SIX: Disobedience sows its own seeds and gives birth to itself until it becomes difficult for the servant of sin to be set free from it’s drug like bondages.
SEVEN: Sins weaken the heart’s will and resolve so that the desire for disobedience becomes stronger and the desire to repent becomes weaker bit by bit until the desire to repent is removed from the heart completely.
EIGHT: Every type of disobedience is a legacy of some past sin that was repeated by a destroyed nation from God. Sodomy is a legacy of the People of Sodom, human greatness in the land and corruption is a legacy of the Babylonian Empire, and pride/arrogance and tyranny is a legacy of the People of Egypt (Pharaoh). So the disobedient one is wearing the gown of some of these nations who were the enemies of God and were destroyed in his wrath.
NINE: Disobedience is a cause of the servant being held in contempt (dispised) by his Lord. They became contemptible in (His sight) so they disobeyed Him. If they were honorable (in His sight) He would have protected them. God the Exalted said:
“And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” Gen 6:6TEN: The ill-effects of the sinner fall upon those besides themselves; the animals and all that are associated with the sinner will end in a result of which they are harmed.
ELEVEN: The servant continues to commit sins until they become very easy for him and seem insignificant in his heart and this is a sign of destruction. Every time a sin becomes insignificant in the sight of the servant it becomes greater a sin in the sight of God.
Indeed, the true believer sees his sins as if he was standing at the foot of a high mountain fearing that he/she will fall over and the sinner sees his sins like a fly which passes by his nose so he tries to remove it by merely waving his hand around.
TWELVE: Disobedience inherits humiliation and lowliness. Honor, all of it, lies in the obedience of exposing sin and humbly repenting with a true heart towards God.
THIRTEEN: Disobedience corrupts the intellect. The intellect has light and disobedience extinguishes this light. When the light of the intellect is extinguished, it becomes weak and deficient to serve God in true and honest Holiness.
FOURTEEN: When disobedience increases, the servant’s heart becomes sealed so that he becomes of those who are heedless.
“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. And sin, when iot is finished, bringth forth death.” James 1:15FIFTEEN: Sins cause the various types of corruption to occur in the land. Corruption of the waters, the air, the plants, the fruits and the dwelling places
“And unto Adam he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life” Genesis 3:17 SIXTEEN: The disappearance of modesty which is the essence of the life of the heart and is the basis of every good. Its disappearance is the disappearance of all that is good.
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array.” 1Timothy 2:9SEVENTEEN: Sins weaken and reduce the magnification and Glory of God to the world.
EIGHTEEN: Sins are the cause of God forgetting His servant, abandoning him and leaving him to fend for himself with his soul and family, and this is the destruction from which no deliverance can be hoped for.
NINETEEN: Sins remove the servant from the realm of heaven on earth (Ecclesiastical Heaven) and he is prevented from (obtaining) the reward of those who do well.
TWENTY: Disobedience causes the favors of God to cease and makes His revenge lawful. No blessing ceases to reach a servant except due to a sin and no retribution is made lawful upon him except due to a sin.
"
Even after the sins of the past are forgiven, the one so pardoned will doubtless feel the force of sinful habits bearing heavily upon him. He who has been guilty of habitual untruthfulness, will at times find himself inclined, perhaps, to yield to that habit. He who has stolen may be sorely tempted, when opportunity arises, to steal again. While he who has indulged in licentious (unrestrained) practices may again find himself disposed to give way to the seductive influence of the siren (enchantment). So with drunkenness, malice, envy, covetousness, hatred, anger, and in short all the evil dispositions. There is an absolute necessity for some real justifying and sanctifying grace...to root out from the heart concupiscence (strong desire) and the blind tendency or inclination to evil. The heart must be purified, every passion, every propensity made submissive to the will of God. Man's natural powers are unequal to this task.”
Remember that “the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
====================Unknown Author===========================I once read a strange story in the news about a plumber who was called in to unclog a drain. He had one of those snake-like devices that runs down into a drain and keeps running until the drain is cleaned out. But this time, the "snake" did a strange thing. It went outside of the house through an open vent and into the house next door. Then it went down through a vent, came out, and grabbed a ten-year-old girl who was playing in her backyard. Fortunately, her little brother cried started crying, and they stopped. The fire department had to use cable cutters to set the girl free. After reading that story, I thought about how sin can be that way. You never know where it is going to go. When we commit a sinful act, we do not realize the repercussions that can take place and the other lives that can be impacted by it.A Evangelist once said: "Immorality is an epidemic in our churches just as it is in the secular world at large. . . . No wonder the world is in crisis."God has a lot to say about immorality, and specifically adultery, in Scripture. It made His Top Ten list, the Ten Commandments. It was, in some cases, punishable by death. And we see it addressed in the New Testament as well.God has told us not to commit adultery for good reason. When you cross that line of protection that God has placed around you and your spouse's life, you do so at your own peril. And the repercussions of that sin can last for months, years, and yes, even a lifetime.
